SOIL

Healthy soils hold the key to productivity and resilience in rainfed agriculture. Hence the RRA Network believes the Government should support and incentivize farmers to maintain soil health. Current programs such as soil health cards need to integrate the 3M’s and broaden their scope to provide a realistic diagnosis of soil health leading to more comprehensive actions by farmers on their farm soils. As soil conservation is adequately mainstreamed both in Watershed and MGNREGS programmes, RRAN focuses on improving:

  1. MICROBIAL activity
  2. Incorporating Organic MATTER
  3. MOISTURE Management
